Q. Which grade of Braille is used on your elevator signs?

Made of 1/16" thick, rigid, non-glare plastic, our TactileTouch elevator signs are ADA-compliant and carry Grade 2 braille along with raised legend/pictogram. The braille on our signs complies with California Braille specifications as well.

Q. Do your signs comply with IBC regulations for elevator emergency?

Yes, we do have IBC compliant signs elevator emergency signs as mentioned in section 3002.3 of the 2015 IBC. The section requires the use of approved pictorial signs of a standardized design that read IN CASE OF FIRE, ELEVATORS ARE OUT OF SERVICE - USE EXIT STAIRS. These signs shall be posted next to each elevator call station on all floors. You can browse all here.

Q. How do indoor engraved elevator signs compare with their outdoor engraved counterparts?

Our engraved elevator signs for indoors are made of 60 mil thick plastic and feature precision-engraved characters on the smooth acrylic plate. On the other hand, the outdoor engraved elevator signs are made of 60 mil thick weather-resistant plastic. These have precision-engraved characters on a textured outdoor-rated acrylic plate. Both indoor and outdoor engraved signs are loaded with UV inhibitors. The UV inhibitors prevent fading on indoor signs for up to 5 years and 20 years in sunlight for outdoor signs.

The labels are made of polyester and come in standard and 3M engineer-grade reflective options. You may explore our rigid signs in plastic and aluminum materials. We offer reflective aluminum signs as well that promise optimum nighttime/low-light visibility.

Additionally, we have acrylic elevator signs in indoor/outdoor engraved and designer styles. Other styles include two-sided projecting acrylic signs and portable FloorBoss sign kits containing two standard or reflective sign panels and an easy-to-carry plastic frame. Our projecting elevator sign comes with a convenient mounting kit comprising screws and adhesive tape for fast installation. Made of 120 mil thick acrylic and printed on two sides, the sign has a flange with drill holes for mounting.

Q. Is your FloorBoss elevator sign foldable?

Yes, they are. Our FloorBoss elevator sign is offered as a kit containing two sign panels and a polypropylene frame. The reinforced injection-molded frame features an easy-grip handle and can be folded flat, making storing the sign kit easy and convenient.

Q. How soon can custom elevator signs be shipped?

Since our custom elevator signs are made to order; it may take anywhere between three to five business days in production before being shipped. The order is released into production the business day after the proof is approved.
