Q. What is the material and size of arrow-shaped FDC signs?

Our arrow-shaped Fire Department Connection Signs are available in sturdy aluminum that is highly durable outdoors and quickly provides direction towards the nearest FDC.

The left and right arrow signs (horizontal) are available in two sizes - 6 x 18 inches and 9 x 27-inches. The smaller arrow signs are constructed from 63 mil thick aluminum, while the larger ones are 80 mil thick aluminum. You can choose a grade of reflectivity from Engineer Grade (basic), High Intensity (medium), and Diamond Grade (high, angular reflectivity), or opt for a non-reflective version.

We also have a vertical arrow-shaped FDC sign that measures 6-inches x 24-inches and is made of 80 mil thick aluminum with 3M inks and reflective films.

Q. Are reflective FDC signs effective outdoors?

That’s correct. All our FDC signs are designed for outdoor use. Reflective FDC signs are made with sturdy aluminum (63-80 mil) with a 3M reflective film on the top. Signs can resist 168ºF of temperature, water, and chemicals. Different reflective films have different outdoor lives, but 7 years is the minimum life of our reflective FDC signs.

Q. Do you have FDC labels as well?

Yes, we do offer FDC labels along with rigid FDC signs. FDC labels are available in stock and customizable options too.

Q. What are FDC Standpipe Identification Plates made of?

FDC Standpipe Identification Plates are made from 3/16 inch thick cast aluminum with a ¼ inch raised border and letters. The round plate is compatible with 4-inches IPS (iron pipe size) with a 10-inches OD (outside diameter). The red enamel-coated plate comes with accented white letters for good visibility.

Q. How to customize an FDC sign with company name, PSI, or other details?

The process of customization is very simple. Once you select a Custom FDC Sign template, click on the “Personalize” button. A design page will appear where you will see a customization box to enter your text. This can be your company name or any other text. There are options to alter letter size for your custom wording. You can increase or decrease the letter height with two buttons given next to the customization box. It’s easy to select the font and alignment too. All this doesn’t require any expertise in designing. On the final page after material selection, you can check the box, “Yes, I’d like your professional artists to tweak my design at no extra charges” for more refinement. You can also send any special instructions about your order in this step.

Q. Are FDC signs double-sided?

While most of our FDC Signs are printed on one side, our V-shaped Projecting FDC Sign is printed on two sides. The two printed sides join at an angle of 74° for superior visibility. Acrylic signs are 120 mils thick with a flame-treated edge.
