OSHA have issued detailed guidance for the manufacturing industry. These guidelines focus on the usual social distancing measures including maintaining physical distance, wearing masks, and practicing good hand and respiratory hygiene.
These also recommend modifying the employment policies to make them more worker-friendly, manage absenteeism, and limit the risk of spread. Additionally, it is advised to make changes to the layout in the operations floor as well as in offices and breakrooms by rearranging furniture, installing barriers, limiting the number and use of shared resources, improving ventilation, etc.
The CDC has divided these measures into administrative controls and engineering controls, and has also stressed the importance of communicating with and training employees and workers to ensure transparency and policy awareness as well as securing their participation in limiting the risk of spread.
